Several Mars obiter images released by NASA over the years show large disc-like objects and domes on the planet’s surface.
Who knows whether or not these objects are naturally occurring? If they are artificial in nature they can only be classified as unidentified objects … perhaps UFO’s or bases?
Here I’ll share some of the more compelling cases.
Case #1: Disc-like craft with two large, black rectangular windows:
This image from NASA’s Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) shows a disc-like craft with two large, black rectangular windows on the surface of Mars just above a steep cliff. The sunlight is seen reflecting off the side of the metallic craft. This might even be a base. The object appears to be artificial as it has geometry and symmetry.
NASA indicates in the description that Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) obtained grey-scale high resolution images typically 1.5 to 12 m per pixel. I estimate this to be a rather large craft at approximately 50 metres in diameter.
The only way to see the object clearly is by using the NASA image viewer located to the left of the web page. Click the “Toggle full page” icon followed by the “Zoom in” icon. Click on “Zoom in” until the maximum image size is displayed. The object is located in the bottom quarter of the image. Perhaps the “PDS Source Data” has a higher resolution image.
I followed the process described above, combining several screenshots into a large, complete image which you can download here (file size: 4.62 Mbytes).
I tried downloading the original PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF and PDF files; however the resolution of each is too low to see the object clearly.
A while ago Spirit rover captured a sequence of images some Sol’s apart. In it there seems to be an object in the back ground that has moved. Neville Thompson claims he has debunked the mystery; referring to some sort of error-of-parallax. I don’t fully agree with this analysis and tend towards Will’s initial analysis.
I have placed a yellow marker above the “moving” object. The images below show how the perspective between the images changes. The object in my opinion has moved further than in would have if it were static.
The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) is a NASA imaging project and focuses on data returned from Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, and regional surveys conducted by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The controversial HiRISE image below seems to indicate the presence of trees growing in rows and formations of crystal like shards on the Martian surface.
I’ve highlighted some of these trees and crystal like structures. The layer of white carbon dioxide ice passes behind these objects. There is also a red dust cloud behind the group of the trees. Check out the surface from where the trees are growing. The evidence shows that the trees are rooted (thick root systems are clearly visible). One group of trees at the middle, top of the image are upside-down and there is a red dust cloud visible behind them, this too me indicates some image manipulation, i.e. all the remaining trees are pointing up towards the sky.
NASA’s explanation: “There is a vast region of sand dunes at high northern latitudes on Mars. In the winter, a layer of carbon dioxide ice covers the dunes, and in the spring as the sun warms the ice it evaporates. This is a very active process, and sand dislodged from the crests of the dunes cascades down, forming dark streaks.”
Several “dark streaks” start at the crest of some dunes, whereas other “dark streaks” are seen in absolutely flat areas between dunes, i.e. they can’t flow there.
In my opinion the trees and formation of crystal shards are pointing up towards the sky and are not flat on the surface; whether or not these are trees remains to be seen. NASA’s logic and explanation makes no sense. Unarguably this is a very intriguing image and will cause debate for years to come.
This photograph (ESP_017362_2650) was taken by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) HiRISE Camera on 10 April 2010.
NASA describes this photograph as “Test Geographic Extent of Frost-Dust Avalanches on North Polar Scarps.”
I discovered long, parallel geological features which look anomalous due to their structure and geometry. They run parallel to each other and are almost perfectly straight with equally spaced “ribbing.” Could they be artificial, perhaps used to support pipes or the like?
There’s also what appears to look like some kind of mining operations, e.g. open-pit quarry mines:
This photograph (PSP_007527_2135) was taken by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) HiRISE Camera on 04 March 2008.
NASA describes this photograph as “Dike and Cave Up-Slope of Hrad Vallis.”
I checked out the photograph and found an anomaly filled crater (based on pure speculation) to the left of the cave. Standing out, literally, is what looks like a giant three-sided megalith (approximately 10 m high and 4.5 m wide). There is what appears to be a symbol cut into the side facing the camera.
Scattered around the megalith are what look like parts of a destroyed ruin or statue, even possibly machinery. There are what looks like pipes, bent sheet metal, rectangular blocks, boxes and even what looks like a giant claw.
This photograph (PSP_006857_2005) was taken by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) HiRISE Camera on 12 January 2008.
NASA describes this photograph as “Eastern Nili Fossae.”
I discovered what looks like an artificial structure or object lying at the opening of a hole or crater on the Martian surface.
This anomaly looks totally out of place due to it’s straight, uniform shape.
UPDATE: A Big thank you to Todd, Administrator at WhatsUpInTheSky, who uploaded a RDR PDS version to GigaPan (zoom-in and check out the high level of detail in this photograph). Todd also pointed out other Martian surface anomalies well worth a second look, check it out here.
