The photograph analyzed here was taken by the Mast Camera (Mastcam) onboard NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 3575 (2022-08-27 09:14:37 UTC).
The object featured here has a bright metallic appearance and it looks like a smashed container. I estimate this object to be about one metre in size. The right-angles and straight edges makes this object stand out from its surroundings and there doesn’t appear to be anything else like it nearby.
Could this be litter we brought to Mars with the rover/other mission in the past or could this be an artifact made by an ancient civilization that once colonized Mars?
As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.
