BACKGROUND:
This sequence of photographs was taken by the Right Navigation Camera onboard NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity on Sol 613 (2014-04-28 04:48:22 UTC).
ANALYSIS:
Shown here is another aerial phenomenon in the Martian sky. The anomaly is cigar-shaped with a uniform width with rounded tips on either side. It doesn’t look like a typical meteorite burning up in the Martian atmosphere as it lacks the typical tail we see in meteorites burning up in the atmosphere.
This object appears in five photographs spanning about eight minutes (NOTE: this is a correction, in my video I state it’s about eight seconds, my apology for this error). What is interesting is that this doesn’t appear to be an object that is blurred due to exposure time as the stars in the background are not blurred, it appears to be a solid, long, narrow object.
Navigation Camera (Navcam) Specifications:
The Navcams have f/12 cameras with a 14.67 mm focal length. The Navcam optics are f-theta fisheye lenses with 45 degree x 45 degree horizontal/vertical field of view and a 67 degree diagonal field of view. They have an angular resolution at the center of the picture of 0.82 milliradians/ pixel. The field depth of the Navcams ranges from 0.5 m to infinity. The nominal exposure time for a noontime image on Mars is approximately 0.25 seconds. This time is 50 times the frame transfer time of 5.1 ms. This ensures that the image signal is significantly than the image smear acquired during the frame transfer. The spectral range of the Navcams is 600-800 nm.
Why are there so many aerial phenomena photographed by the rovers, could these be drones/craft monitoring the rovers on Mars?
As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these anomalies might be.

DISCLAIMER:
Many or all of the anomalies/artefacts covered in this presentation may be naturally occurring geological features caused by some type of geological processes, however due to the lack of specific information from the source we can only speculate whether these are all natural or some artificial in nature.
In cases where I say an anomaly looks like something I’m attempting to clarify what I see and not specifically that the anomaly is what I say it looks like.
My intention is only to share anomalies I’ve discovered on Mars and not to convince anyone that there is or was a civilization on Mars.
As Will Farrar from WhatsUpInTheSky says: “I see what I see, you see what you see.”
