DEEP DIVE | MRO | Partially Covered Cavern in Hydraotes Colles on Mars

BACKGROUND:
The photograph analyzed here (ESP_013177_1800) was acquired by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 19 May 2009 and is described as ‘Possible Rootless Cones in Hydraotes Chaos.’

ANALYSIS:
Featured here is an interesting anomaly that looks similar to a web/organic material or bracing covering a cavern, I discovered this anomaly at a site in Hydraotes Colles on Mars. The cavern measures approximately twenty two metres across.

As always, until we get to see these anomalies up close and personal, I can only speculate as to what these objects might be.

THE ANOMALY ON MARS:

Following is an elevated view of the site as seen in Google Earth Pro (with the Mars option in the main menu selected):

Following is cropped image taken from the original MRO HiRISE JP2 photograph as well as close-up view of the anomaly upscaled using Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel:

IMAGE UPSCALING COMPARISON:
Following is a comparison of the upscaled image of this object using Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel to a conventionally magnified image of the same object. The highlights, shadows, geometry and shape of the object are the same on both, the only difference is that the upscaled image is a lot sharper (Gigapixel upscales preserving the edges of objects whereas a convention magnified image is blurry).

To see more examples of how well this image upscaler works and to read about the technology used please refer to the following web page:

Topaz Labs’ Gigapixel is not the run-of-the-mill free AI image upscaler. It is an expensive piece of sophisticated software used in studios and by professional photographers around the world.

DISCLAIMER:
Many or all of the anomalies/artefacts covered in this presentation may be naturally occurring geological features caused by some type of geological processes, however due to the lack of specific information from the source we can only speculate whether these are all natural or some artificial in nature.

In cases where I say an anomaly looks like something I’m attempting to clarify what I see and not specifically that the anomaly is what I say it looks like.

My intention is only to share anomalies I’ve discovered on Mars and not to convince anyone that there is or was a civilization on Mars.

As Will Farrar from WhatsUpInTheSky says: “I see what I see, you see what you see.”
